School Nutrition Program

CM Maryam Nawaz launched School Nutrition Program which will provide nutritious milk packs to primary school students in Dera Ghazi Khan. In Phase I total of 400,000 primary school students will get milk packs every morning from school officials. Later on, the government will expand this program to other cities and villages of Pakistan. However for now this program is start in Dera Ghazi Khan because the government has notice malnutrition in the children’s of government schools in DG Khan.

Students studying in all government primary schools of South Punjab will get nutritious milk packs. This will help them improve their physical development and ultimately improve their performance in education and extracurricular activities. At this growing age, children have a special need for better food and protein so that their development is more optimal.

Hence, in Dera Ghazi Khan, the Chief Minister launched the province’s first School Nutrition Program for the Government Primary Schools. During her address on this occasion, Chief Minister Punjab said that a program has been started today to deal with the problem of malnutrition among school children.

School Nutrition Program For Primary

All primary class students of nursery, prep, class 1 to class 5 will get a free packet of milk every day after the school assembly. This milk naturally contains all the nutrients. Hence, the students will get better health and this milk will help them to grow fast. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam further said that it was an expensive program but nothing can be more important than children.

She further said that according to a survey, the weight of children in these areas (Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Muzaffargarh) is not according to their age. Due to this, these children do not develop well. Hence, most of the children in these areas fell ill and fell behind in academic performance.

3,527 Schools 400,000 Students

According to Phase I the School Nutrition Program Launched By CM Maryam Nawaz is for 3,527 Primary Schools and 400,000 Students of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Muzaffargarh. Hence, the primary students of these cities get ready for a milk pack daily when they arrive at school.

Good Health Better Performance

If a student has good health then he/she can perform better in the studies and in the playground. That’s why, the government aims to provide good health and food to the poor students. So that these children can become strong. Basically, these children are the assets of Pakistan. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif interacted with the students, distributed milk packets and discussed with them about their education and health.

Benefits of Milk For Primary Students

Scientifically it is better to drink milk daily for the health and for the better development of children. But poor people cannot bring milk to their children due to poverty. That is why the government of Pakistan has started this program considering it a national duty.

We appreciate this golden step of the Chief Minister because better nutrition is the right of every soul. If a kid get full nutrition’s from the early age then he/she gets a long height, powerful body and sharp mind. Hence, this program will help the poor primary students of Pakistan to grow naturally fast without any malnutrition.
