What is BISP
What is BISP – BISP is the short form of the Benazir Income Support Program. It is a cash transfer program that was started in 2008. This program distributes 12500 to its register beneficiaries after every 3 months. This program aimed to reduce poverty in Pakistan, empower women, and provide a better living style to poor families.
Millions of women across Pakistan are register in BISP and getting regular aid from Benazir Income Support Program Office. Moreover, this program focus on the poverty level of the individual before going to register. An individual needs to be poor, unemployed, and not the owner of property to become eligible for this Benazir Income Support Program.
BISP Vision and Mission
The government of Pakistan wants to help poor and deserving families by providing them with a monthly stipend. That’s why, the government introduce the Benazir Income Support Program in the name of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Madam Benazir Bhutto Sahiba.
Everything you need in your life such as food, clothes, and the kid’s education can be fulfilled through the money (stipend) of the BISP. Those people who don’t have a proper source of income or a job and whose financial conditions are not good can register in the BISP Program and get this aid.
Let me tell you one fact, Benazir Income Support Program aims to help the women of Pakistan. Hence, this program only registers and gives stipends to women. Benazir Income Support Program money is given to register women from Benazir Income Support Program Centers, BISP ATM Cards, and from JazzCash retailers.
Type Of BISP Programs
After the success of BISP (Benazir Income Support Program) the government announced further types of grants under the roof of Benazir Income Support Program. These programs include:
- Benazir Kafalat Program
- Benazir Taleemi Wazaif
- Benazir Nashonuma Program

Benazir Kafalat Program
After the success of BIS the Government of Pakistan has introduce Benazi Kafalat Program. The motto of this new program was to feed hungry and poor people who didn’t have enough sources to buy food items. That’s the registered individuals of the Benazir Kafalat Program will receive a monthly 12500 and they can use this money to buy food items and other basic grocery products at home. Millions of Pakistanis have been added to the Benazir Kafalat Program since the launch of this new program. And now the individuals who are register in this program are very happy because this program gives aid after a few months.
Benazir Taleemi Wazaif
BISP also has launched the education stipends for primary, secondary and higher secondary level students of government schools. These BISP education stipends are known as Benazir Taleemi Wazaif. According to Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, the students will get 1500 to 4500 rupees from Wazifa. This Wazifa is different according to class level and student’s gender. Yes! Higher class level students and female students will get more stipend as compared to low level and boy students. Because Benazir Taleemi Wazaif wants to promote the education of girls in Pakistani cities and villages.
Benazir Nashonuma Program
Finally, the last BISP Program is called the Benazir Nashonuma Program. According to this program pregnant women, lactating mothers, and the mother of children having age below 2 years will receive continuous government aid. This program was launch to provide money to mothers to provide better nutrition to kids (newborn babies). Hence, this program is a lifesaving program and the babies get good health and growth after getting money from Benazir Nashonuma Program.
BISP Eligibility Criteria
Every woman must meet special eligibility criteria to register and get money from BISP – Benazir Income Support Program. Here the Benazir Income Support Program Eligibility Criteria is describe below:
- Applicant must be a Pakistani
- Applicant must have valid CNIC
- It should be a computerized CNIC
- Applicant’s poverty score should be below 32
- Applicant should not have a government job
- No property or car should be register on the applicant’s CNIC
BISP Registration
First, the government will conduct an NSER survey and register the poor and needy people of Pakistan. Those people who are eligible will get register in the Benazir Income Support Program. Once you get register you will start receiving the new payment of Benazir Income Support Program every 3 months whenever new installments launched by the government.
